The City of La Habra, CA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing and investigating crimes, and providing excellent customer service to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to preserve law and order and prevent crimes
- Respond to calls and complaints involving traffic accidents, robberies, and other misdemeanors and felonies
- Conduct motor vehicle accident investigations and provide first aid to injured persons
- Investigate crimes against persons and property, and interview victims and witnesses
- Process warrants and apprehend or assist in the apprehension of wanted persons
- Maintain knowledge of local ordinances and state laws, and provide assistance and information to the public
- High school graduate or equivalent and completion of a California Basic Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy
- No previous sworn law enforcement experience required, but related work experience is helpful
- Age 21 years or older
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work extended hours and attend meetings and events as needed
- Meet minimum vision requirements of 20/100, correctable to 20/20 with normal color vision and depth perception
- Be a citizen of the United States or have applied for U.S. Citizenship at least six months prior to the submittal of the employment application
