As a Field Technician III at MasTec Communications Group, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in expanding technology for a better community.
Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to lead a field crew and provide support in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and telecommunications, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Lead a field crew to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
- Read and understand customer detail plans to deliver high-quality results
- Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed safely and accurately
- Adhere to all company and industry standards and regulations (OSHA, etc.)
- Prepare drawings of field sketches using AutoCAD
- Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial applications
- Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work
- Review peer work products
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of general construction experience, with some cell tower industry experience highly preferred
- High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results-oriented
- Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, and have a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
- BASIC computer knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with AT&T or Verizon Wireless Networks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commissioning and Integration experience required
- Mobile Access Certification is a plus
- Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers, and aerial platform equipment
- Ability to lead crews when the foreman is gone DC/AC electrical skills
- Update equipment office records and installation specifications to document accurately "as built"
- Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity
- Must be adaptable to changing environments
- Must be able to pick up 50 lbs. and be capable of working up to 12 hours
- Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively
- Must be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demand
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 based on location and experience.
