Mechanical Engineer - Federal Sector

Halff is seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) to join our team, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare detailed engineering contract documentation for assigned projects, collaborating with project managers to ensure timely completion and effective engineering decisions.
  • Oversee multiple projects, managing resources, materials, and schedules to achieve project goals and maintain construction timelines. Create comprehensive mechanical and plumbing construction documents, including plans, specifications, design analyses, and cost estimates for efficient and reliable system designs.
  • Conduct on-site assessments as needed to gather existing condition data, participate in meetings, address construction inquiries, and document site observations. Responsibilities may include reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, troubleshooting construction challenges, and coordinating field installations to uphold project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and guide junior mechanical designers and engineers to enhance their skills and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or eligibility for licensure through NCEES.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in Federal Sector projects.
  • Proficient in energy modeling tools such as Trane Trace 700.
  • Experience with large central plants is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, and organizational proficiency.
  • Design-build experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with USACE and GSA clients is beneficial.
  • Capability to manage large-scale projects effectively.
