Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at Frontier Technology. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, testing, and deployment of our advanced Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) program under the U.S. Space Force (USSF).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and debug new features or enhancements to existing services
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure as a service (IaaS) & Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Automate software deployment processes by releasing incremental updates and developing automation tools
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or related field required (Master's degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with Automation (DevOps Experience is a plus)
  • Experience with Platform as a Service (PAAS)
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, scripting such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with building and managing release systems, code merging and promotion, and CI/CD workflows and tools
  • Experience with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments
  • Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, Mercurial, Perforce)
  • Experience working with and delivering using Agile practices
  • Monitoring experience with Splunk, Elk, Kibana, Grafana, etc
  • Previous experience with infrastructure development, or development and operations
  • Experience with development and automated testing
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Top Secret clearance

For this role, the compensation range for candidates in Colorado is $113K- $190K. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. FTI has a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
