Job Description

The MLT Test Engineer will lead and support the development and execution of component, system level and powertrain testing for the release and validation groups. The primary area of responsibility will include but not limited to; leading component and vehicle system level test setup to meet development and DVP&R requirements. The MLT candidate will support fixture design and fabrication for all component and vehicle level testing which may include powertrain component development. The Test Engineer will also work with CAE, Release groups and Test Engineering to ensure the development and timely completion of current and future testing. The MLT engineer will also be responsible for test planning, maintaining current MLT projects within the lab and leading SBU personnel to achieve and maintain program timelines.

Position Requirements Basic Qualifications


• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.


• 1 – 3 years of experience in an automotive testing or engineering environment.


• Strong working knowledge of vehicle suspension systems and components


• Working knowledge of vehicle powertrain systems.


• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and nonverbal.


• Ability to work well in a team environment.


• Excellent attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications


• Experience with UAW-SBU employees


• Working knowledge with MTS, MOOG hydraulic control systems.


• Excellent project and time management skills


• Team Center, PSAP, Auto Cad


• Fixture design for system and component level testing for fatigue and vibration.


• Hydraulic and pnumatic closed loop testing experience. Real time testing a plus
