The role of Production Technician 2 involves operating various equipment and systems tailored to specific site activities. This position is essential in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate machinery and systems in alignment with site-specific operational requirements.
- Utilize forklifts and operate pallet wrapping equipment, while supporting systems related to conditioning, packaging, and treatment.
- Assist in managing field operations, including planting, observing field conditions, harvesting, and collecting data.
- Participate in various field activities such as rouging and detasseling.
- Support process order tracking and maintain administrative procedures, including maintenance orders and production data using systems like SAP, SMMS, and WMS.
- Keep metrics and other relevant information updated on visual boards and data dashboards to foster teamwork and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Notify senior technicians and management of any product non-conformities or process variances.
- Exhibit knowledge of and comply with the company's Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
- Adhere to internal procedures and assist in ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for performance improvement in line with production area and company objectives.
- Maintain adherence to site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols and Syngenta's HSE policies and employee conduct guidelines.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to guarantee optimal performance, promptly reporting any malfunctions or repair needs.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts is necessary.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and maintaining a secure work environment.
- Basic understanding of relevant production software, such as SCADA.
- Knowledge of routine maintenance practices.
- Proficient in accurate record-keeping of production documentation.
