This role involves managing cases for unaccompanied minors with caseloads distributed across various locations.
About the Program
The long-term foster care initiative aims to provide a secure and nurturing environment for unaccompanied minors seeking refuge in the United States. Many of these youth come from Central American countries and lack family connections in the U.S.
Our dedicated staff ensures that these young individuals flourish in their foster placements by offering comprehensive case management, clinical assistance, educational support, and specialized training for foster families. The youth typically range from 12 to 17 years old.
Work Environment: Hybrid Remote. Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. On-call duties may be required.
Compensation: Annual Salary of $48,024.00 for non-bilingual candidates and $50,112.00 for bilingual candidates.

The organization provides essential services to youth who have arrived in the U.S. without family or guardians. These children are recognized as Unaccompanied Children (UC) and often come from diverse and challenging backgrounds. They are placed in both foster and group home settings where they receive case management, therapy, and various supportive services.
The program also aids these youth in adapting to U.S. customs and culture while striving for educational achievements, English language proficiency, and personal independence. As a UC Foster Care Case Manager, your responsibilities will include delivering casework and support services to children in foster care, facilitating connections with family members for potential sponsorship, and assisting with sponsorship applications as necessary. You will also be tasked with maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.
This position requires functioning effectively with moderate supervision while adhering to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all assigned youth receive mandatory services, including mental health, medical, recreational, educational, and other supportive services, in accordance with program expectations.
- Develop and complete assessments, service and treatment plans, progress notes, incident reports, and other necessary documentation promptly.
- Maintain accurate records on foster children in care and ensure compliance with documentation practices and reporting requirements.
- Participate actively in weekly staff meetings with the clinical team and stakeholders.
- Facilitate ongoing education and support services for foster parents.
- Consult with supervisors on cases during weekly meetings to review case plans and evaluate client progress.
- Schedule monthly meetings with foster parents and children to address service delivery concerns.
- Provide translation for program clientele and staff if bilingual.
- Maintain effective communication with community agencies involved in service provision.
- Attend required training and apply new knowledge in service delivery.
- Prepare for and attend court hearings as necessary.
- Transport clients as needed.
- Explore community resources and refer families for additional support.
- Adhere to federal, state, program, and agency regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently in the field.
Job Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Social Services or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Master's degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in child welfare or case management is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred; additional compensation is available for bilingual candidates.
Additional Requirements
- Availability for 24-hour client support as required.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation for client transport; proof of current automobile insurance is necessary.
- Vaccine Requirement
- Proof of vaccination or immunity for Flu, Covid, TDAP, MMR, and Varicella is required.
