Commuter Rail Operations Manager

This leadership role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). You will be responsible for managing daily operations, driving continuous improvement in service delivery, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a team of manager/supervisors and operational staff
  • Conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and providing coaching
  • Managing all aspects of commuter rail service delivery, including train movement, scheduling, and customer service
  • Ensuring compliance with FRA regulations and implementing strategies for operational improvement
  • Representing the commuter rail division at various public and industry events

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in commuter rail operations, including experience as a manager
  • Experience with FRA regulations and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them to daily operations
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading diverse teams in a high-pressure environment
