Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated University Archivist to join our team at Colorado State University Pueblo. The successful candidate will be responsible for preserving and promoting the rich history of the Colorado Chicano Movement, as well as the history of our institution and the diverse community we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the acquisition, digitization, preservation, and access to archival materials, including rare books and manuscripts.
  • Develop and manage Special Collections, including the University's Colorado Chicano Movement Archives (CCMA).
  • Collaborate with the local community to develop and promote the CCMA.
  • Provide reference assistance and support faculty and students with research and teaching activities.
  • Participate in research, teaching, and outreach activities within the library faculty.
  • Teach credit-bearing courses in archives management, if desired.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science (ALA accredited) or related archives discipline to be obtained no later than May 2025.
  • Commitment to working with diverse student populations and commitment to equity in education at all levels.
  • ALA accredited Masters in Library Science if first Master's degree is not MLS.
  • Academy of Certified Archivists Certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse community groups.
  • Demonstrated planning and leadership skills, including working independently, taking initiative, and setting goals and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Chicanx/Latinx community groups.
  • Strong organizational and archival management skills.
  • Experience with digitization and preservation of archival materials.
  • Experience managing oral history collection projects.
  • Experience building community-based archives.
  • Teaching/Library Instruction experience.
  • Experience at a regional comprehensive university.
