Laborer - Alaska - Ahtna Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at Ahtna Technical Services, Inc. in Alaska. The successful candidate will perform various tasks involving physical labor, movement of materials, and operation of hand/power tools.
Key Responsibilities- Locate and move materials, equipment, and parts between work areas to expedite processing of goods.
- Operate manual hand tools and power hand tools, including shovels and all-terrain vehicles.
- Work in confined spaces and remote camp environments for extended periods.
- Provide assistance to staff in the field and site location.
- Perform general manual labor, including use of hand tools and providing manual labor support for project activities and site location.
- Identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of construction machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to pass HAZWOPER physical and respirator fit test.
- Ability to complete pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course and 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher with the last 12 months.
- Current Alaska Department of Labor Certificate of Fitness for Asbestos Abatement.
- Lead Awareness course completion.
- Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures.
The Laborer will work in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.
Physical Demands- Frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Reaching with hands and arms for items above and below sight level.
- Talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus).
- Walking from place to place within the project location with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available.
- Bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 12 hours.
