The Nurse Practitioner Infusion Center Specialist will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care in an outpatient setting. This role requires a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses, including oncology patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients during treatments.
Responsibilities:
Assess and treat patients with acute and chronic illnesses, including oncology patients
Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
Collaborate with the pharmacy department to ensure compliance with hospital-based regulations and state and federal regulations
Work collaboratively with administrative, nursing, and physician teams to ensure safe, effective, and quality patient care
Maintain current licensure and certification as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in New York State
Requirements:
Masters or doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (adult health) in New York State (Board Certification)
Current licensure as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in New York State
BLS and ACLS certification
Certification in oncology nursing and administration of chemotherapeutic agents and/or biologic agents
Working Conditions:
This role requires a normal heat, light, space, and safe working environment, typical of most office jobs. Occasional exposure to mildly unpleasant physical conditions may occur. Exposure to antineoplastic agents is also possible.
