Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual to research, develop, evaluate, and integrate AI capabilities, with a focus on security and trust, particularly for large language models. Your expertise in AI and machine learning, especially in developing, training, and using LLMs, will be invaluable in addressing complex mission needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based capabilities.
  • Analyze AI use cases and recommend secure and trustworthy solutions to sponsors.
  • Prototype AI and/or LLM-based tools to meet operational needs.
  • Evaluate technology solutions in the context of mission data and workflow needs, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and/or white papers.
  • Lead projects or small teams to solve complex AI security problems for our sponsors.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated recent experience with large language models.
  • Advanced skills with Python and the standard ML stack (Tensorflow/Torch, NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Track-record of successful deployment of AI/ML systems or components that have been used by customers or stakeholders outside of a lab/experimental setting.
  • Active IC or DOD TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 8+ years of impactful work experience in AI-related fields.
