Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Coordination
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, procedures, and tests with multiple providers.
- Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Manage patient outcome tools, including preparation and distribution.
- Administrative Department Support
- Provide reception and patient check-in services.
- Offer telephone coverage and route messages accordingly.
- Track insurance verification using multiple systems.
- Maintain lobby areas and ensure patient documentation is complete.
- Chart Preparation
- Analyze patient records to determine if outside documents are needed.
- Review patient consent forms and ensure they are updated.
- Obtain and index outside documents into the electronic medical record.
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Post-secondary education in a medical field is an asset.
- 2-5 years of experience in a medical office, including administrative support, scheduling, customer service, and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and electronic medical records.
- Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
