Position Summary
The Educational Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting educators with classroom management and organization. This position involves providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students while addressing their physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in collaborative lesson planning and maintain communication with parents and school staff.
- Co-facilitate lessons under the guidance of the teacher, leading small group or individual instruction and discussions, while reviewing student work.
- Organize the classroom and teaching resources, oversee classroom activities, and minimize disruptions.
- Supervise students in various settings, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Attend to the diverse needs of students, ensuring their well-being and academic support.
- Assist teachers and students with extracurricular activities and school events.
- Perform administrative tasks, including tracking attendance, typing, filing, photocopying, and grading assignments.
- Maintain educational materials, equipment, and supplies in good condition.
- Monitor student progress and prepare reports for parents.
- Support teachers in advising parents on their children's educational development.

Qualifications
Illinois Paraprofessional License
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Effective problem-solving abilities
Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and justice in education
Previous volunteer or coaching experience is advantageous
Familiarity with G Suite applications
