Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our team in the School of Leadership at the University of Southern Mississippi. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching courses in our various programs, including Accounting, Applied Technology, Business Administration, Human Capital Development, Industrial Engineering Technology, Instructional Technology and Design, Logistics, Trade, and Transportation, and Organizational Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Teach online and/or face-to-face courses in our various programs.
  • Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
  • Follow policies and procedures of the School of Leadership, College of Business and Economic Development, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a discipline related to the assigned course of instruction.
  • 18 graduate hours or significant and documented work experience in the teaching field.
  • The ability to deliver accurate, concise, and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other faculty in the unit.
  • The ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Proficiency in teaching strategies and techniques for diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching, mentoring, and service experience at the university level.
  • Experience with online course delivery and instruction.
  • Professional experience in a field related to the assigned course of instruction.
  • Experience with the Canvas learning platform.
  • A Doctoral degree in a related discipline.
