Collaboration: The MRI Imaging Specialist works in close partnership with MRI leadership and Radiologists to achieve the highest quality diagnostic images, adhering to departmental protocols. Responsibilities also include administering contrast media as dictated by specific diagnostic protocols and assisting the physician or advanced practice provider with MRI-guided invasive procedures.
Technical Proficiency: This position involves performing a variety of technical tasks that necessitate independent judgment, integrity, and initiative, while being capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
Education:
- Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program.
- Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification within 12 months of hire.
- Maintains Continuing Education credits (24 CEU in two-year period) and other requirements to uphold ARRT certification.
Licensure: Current Indiana MRI Technologist license preferred. Healthcare BLS certification is required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of current or recent experience in MRI scanning is preferred.
