JOB SUMMARY:
The Electrical Engineer plays a pivotal role in spearheading the design and coordination of all facets related to utility distribution, smart grid automation, and the integration of intelligent devices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for both overhead and underground initiatives, encompassing distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design.

- Design various new business projects, including line extensions (primary and secondary) and services tailored to diverse customer types (residential, commercial, industrial, developments).

- Utilize CAD systems for design work.

- Collaborate on customer easements and coordinate with the Right of Way Department, as well as work on local permits in conjunction with the Permitting Department.

- Monitor and coordinate project progress, creating project scopes and materials using tools like SAP or Maximo.

- Oversee field/construction work and project closeout activities, including obtaining field notes in outdoor settings and occasionally working in remote locations.

- Lead QA/QC initiatives and ensure compliance with NESC standards and utility specifications, guides, and procedures.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program.

- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.

- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in electrical engineering.

- Familiarity with power system analysis tools such as CYME or ETAP is preferred, along with experience in load flow and fault studies.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and similar materials.

- Primarily work in an office environment, with the potential for fieldwork as required.
