Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will conduct diagnostic tests and research procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing and administering small doses of radiopharmaceuticals to patients and utilizing advanced imaging technology to capture images of the radioactive materials within the body. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including routine and therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to established policies and safety protocols.
  • Comply with regulatory standards in all duties performed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of a two-year or four-year degree in Radiology Technology, followed by accredited Nuclear Medicine training.
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTB) or eligibility for certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required shortly after starting.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a hospital nuclear medicine department.
  • Proficient in completing sonography requisitions and utilizing Radiology filing systems.
  • Ability to operate nuclear medicine equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
