Overview:

The Clinical Systems Integration Specialist is accountable for the setup, upkeep, and technical support of healthcare applications and devices at Parkview North Hospital. This role encompasses both server and client-side applications, along with the integration and configuration of clinical devices.

The specialist ensures optimal performance and reliability of these systems for our healthcare professionals and engages in troubleshooting and resolution of issues as necessary.

In this position, you will plan and execute small to medium-scale projects by assessing existing systems and those proposed by various teams and vendors. Considerations include total cost of ownership, maintainability, and security when recommending solutions.

Working under general supervision within a collaborative team environment, you will adhere to project management methodologies to implement integration projects of varying sizes.

Additionally, you will participate in the ongoing support of operational environments by being part of a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 support for our clients.

Embracing change management protocols is essential, as is providing training and knowledge transfer to the Integration Device Development Analyst.


Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related healthcare field is required.

Experience:
At least 4 years of relevant experience is necessary. Proficiency in database management using SQL Server is expected. The ability to lead and address process requirements is crucial. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and a keen attention to detail, with a demonstrated capacity to understand complex issues.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital for interacting with technical teams, leadership, and end users.

Applicants should have the capability to design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot application software, hardware, and operating systems.

Expertise in clinical device integration is essential, including but not limited to integration of clinical vitals, nurse call systems, bed management, RTLS systems, sleep study software, and mobile communication platforms.

Self-motivation, critical thinking, and logical troubleshooting skills are necessary to resolve or escalate issues that exceed personal knowledge or available documentation to vendors and team members.

Attention to detail and a focus on team communication are imperative.

Demonstrated ability to independently lead the planning of system projects by evaluating current systems, comparing vendor solutions, and conducting cost analyses is required.

Understanding of budgets and the trade-offs between cost and user functionality is important.

Skills:
Experience in implementing, managing, and supporting clinical device and system integration.

Proficient in installing, configuring, and managing device hardware such as:
capsule neurons, terminal servers, RTLS infrastructure monitors, and badges. Familiarity with software lifecycle processes including requirements gathering, design, development, and testing with appropriate documentation is essential. Knowledge of Windows server administration, VMWare, Cisco switching/routing, and biomedical device monitoring systems such as Philips is advantageous.
