Paraeducator - Elementary, 6 hrs/day (.75 FTE), Part Time, Permanent

The North Clackamas School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Paraeducator to join our team in an Elementary Education setting. This part-time, permanent position requires 6 hours of work per day, with a 0.75 FTE schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in assessment, curriculum support, and student interactions to enhance social growth and learning outcomes.
- Implement behavior support and intervention plans as directed by teachers, documenting student progress and maintaining weekly reports.
- Provide limited first aid and assess injuries to determine the need for nursing care, maintaining knowledge of students with medical concerns.
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff while ensuring student confidentiality, adhering to school and district policies.
- Manage student behavior, intervening when necessary to ensure student safety and following approved procedures.
- Provide instructional support and tutoring to students in various settings, including large groups, small groups, and one-on-one situations.
- Oversee student safety during activities such as recess, playground supervision, bus duty, and hallway supervision.
- Perform clerical duties, including making copies, operating office equipment, and record-keeping.
- Successful experience working with culturally diverse families and communities or demonstrated commitment to strengthening engagement with diverse communities.
- Associate's Degree or two years of post-high school education in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
- Capacity to assist, console, and manage students who may be emotional, distraught, or frustrated.
- Proficiency in the proper use of the English language, including annunciation, spelling, and syntax, to assist and model proper language usage by students.
- Ability to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing tasks in a timely and effective manner.
- Capacity to protect student confidentiality consistent with FERPA requirements and good judgment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with staff, students, parents, volunteers, and community members.
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate and related field of study.
- Two years of experience working with children in a learning environment.
- Bilingual and bicultural skills in common languages to the District, such as Spanish, Korean, Russian, and Vietnamese.
