Job Overview:


The Senior Audit Manager is responsible for directing the planning and execution of audits across specific business units or functional corporate areas.

This role will also supervise the Audit team conducting the audits.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to the audit planning process for designated businesses/functional units, including audit strategies, resource allocation, and budgeting.

Holds overall accountability for the completion of audits. Plans and leads audits while overseeing staff engaged in multiple audits, forming conclusions, and communicating findings to the business line.

Conducts testing of critical audit areas and reviews audit documentation. Manages follow-up on findings and validates issues.

Ensures audits are executed and finalized in accordance with established standards, adhering to time, budget, and scope parameters to meet deadlines.

Oversees a small to medium-sized team assigned to specific audits, providing coaching and performance feedback throughout the audit process.

Evaluates internal and external risks for assigned business lines/functions using subject matter expertise.

Acts as the primary liaison with management regarding audit scope, findings, and status updates.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required

Advanced degree preferred

8+ years of relevant experience required

Proficient in PC skills (MS Office Suite)

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Advanced critical thinking abilities

Risk-based decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Strong analytical capabilities

Willingness to travel 35% or more

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Timely and accurate task completion

Quickly escalate issues and delays

Effectively manage competing priorities for self and others

In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the banking industry relevant to the assigned area

Advanced functional audit knowledge and skills

Relevant certification required
