We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our team at the University of Virginia's Department of Public Health Sciences. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Jamie Zoellner and other investigators on various community-based research projects targeting obesity- and cancer-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on community-based projects, including the iSIPsmarter and weSIPsmarter initiatives
- Collaborate with project staff and investigators to design and implement research studies
- Develop and maintain research protocols, data management systems, and statistical analysis plans
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in grant writing and secure funding for research projects
- Doctorate in behavioral sciences, nutrition, health sciences, exercise science, public health, psychology, sociology, or related field
- Experience working on federally funded research trials
- Expertise in obesity nutrition and/or cancer
- Strong interest and experience in community-based research and working with at-risk and diverse communities
- Data management and statistical analytic skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
