Job Title: Project Engineer - New Product Introduction

Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead the introduction of new products in our Alamo, TN facility. As a key member of our Engineering and Design to Value team, you will be responsible for driving the successful launch of new products, ensuring they meet customer needs and company goals.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the local introduction of global development projects, acting as a liaison between global and local engineering groups.
  • Develop and execute projects that take proof of concept products and industrialize them.
  • Generate ideas that drive customer value and contribute to cost reduction targets.
  • Develop detailed business cases and implementation plans.
  • Present business cases to cross-functional teams to obtain project approval and ensure proper change management.
  • Identify alternative materials for existing products and develop/review material specifications.
  • Be the main point of contact for Strategic Sourcing opportunities and requests.
  • Develop tools and design concepts that reduce design/manufacturing/assembly time, improve quality, and optimize material usage.
  • Perform bill of material & cost model reviews.
Your Background:
  • Experience with transformer components, such as bushings, tap changers, and distribution components.
  • Proven record of executing and delivering cost reduction projects and savings.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD software, such as Pro-Engineer/CREO Parametric & Windchill.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt and Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Project experience using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methodology.
  • Product development experience for industrial environments.
