Commercial Legal Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned commercial legal professional to join our team at Groq as a Senior Counsel, Commercial Legal. In this role, you will provide expert guidance to drive the company's growth and innovation by reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a diverse range of commercial contracts and template agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft contracts with key partners and vendors, ensuring the company's interests are protected and agreements align with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of standardized contract templates and clauses that align with Groq's business objectives.
  • Develop a comprehensive process for reviewing LLM licenses, identifying and mitigating key risks, while advancing business interests.
  • Maintain a streamlined commercial contract review and approval process, ensuring all contracts are reviewed and approved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in all commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and partners, through effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • A J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and a minimum of 6 years of experience as a commercial attorney, preferably with some experience in-house in a technology company.
  • Strong contract negotiation, drafting, and review skills, with experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to understand the company's business objectives and industry trends.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the AI industry and technology, with the ability to stay up-to-date with trends and developments.
