We are seeking a highly experienced and talented Principal Civil Engineer to join our team at Toole Design Group in Columbus, OH. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse team to deliver highway or roadway projects from preliminary through final design, on time and on budget, while coordinating with clients and inspiring and mentoring your team to deliver great work.

This is a full-time position that typically works a hybrid schedule, with at least two to three days a week in the office. We also provide employees with the opportunity and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week.

The Columbus office of Toole Design opened in 2018 and is in downtown Columbus on Broad Street, across from Capitol Square. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects, and you will enjoy ensuring deliverables are of the highest quality.

You will lead, manage, design, and implement roadway, streetscape, and active transportation projects that positively and directly affect our communities. You will be adept at managing conversations between disciplines, managing client relationships, and delivering projects from concept to construction.

You will be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, delivering project ideas from concept to construction.

You will share your knowledge on stakeholder and public outreach, developing feasibility studies and concept plans and preparing construction documents for innovative projects throughout the country.

Qualifications for this position include a Professional Engineering license in OH, a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, and at least 15 years of engineering experience developing construction documents and/or public agency construction administration.

Additionally, you should have at least 5 years serving in a project and/or design management role, a broad knowledge base in civil engineering, and a proven track record of past performance delivering multiple large/complex projects on time and on budget.
