The Detroit Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Medical Team Lead in the Direct Observation Unit.

As a Medical Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of nursing professionals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish collaborative relationships and provide comprehensive care to patients.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff, ensuring timely completion of duties.
  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address any concerns or issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a direct observation unit or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
