Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities related to nursing functions and patient care within budgetary constraints.
  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure adherence to national and company standards for specialty regulations.
  • Maintain effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Coordinate, implement, and assist with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Serve as mentor/preceptor and provide day-to-day guidance to less experienced nurses.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a traditional office environment. They will be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology clinic environment. Physical Requirements: Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
