Job Title: Head Teller

Trustco Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Teller to join our team. As a key member of our banking operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of customer transactions, and maintaining the highest level of security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide above-standard customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and other banking services.
  • Ensure adherence to all bank operational and security policies and procedures, including compliance and privacy policies.
  • Supervise and assist tellers in balancing daily transactions, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Oversee the appearance and organization of the teller area, ensuring it meets bank standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of the vault and teller cash, maintaining accurate records and reporting any exceptions to management.
  • Accept deposits, verify cash and endorsements, and issue receipts.
  • Cash checks, process credit card payments, and issue money orders and bank checks.
  • Process night deposit bags, admit customers to safe deposit boxes, and answer customer inquiries.
  • Balance transactions at the end of the day, verify cash totals, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Cash handling experience and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous banking experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a retail banking setting, with ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional equipment. The physical demands of the job include standing for long periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and using hands to operate office machines.
