Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Finance Lead plays a crucial role in delivering financial insights to the production facility, aimed at boosting profitability through a comprehensive analysis of plant expenditures. This position will utilize financial methodologies and frameworks to clarify results, thereby influencing operational management. The individual will establish or maintain a robust control environment, focusing on the precise representation of plant expenses, assets, and liabilities, while leveraging this deep understanding of the accounting framework to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with plant management in overseeing costs and guiding financial decisions.
  • Educate plant stakeholders on financial strategies and outcomes.
  • Employ financial reporting tools to assess and communicate costs and variances against plans and previous periods.
  • Develop and refine financial plans with contributions and consensus from cross-functional teams.
  • Establish and uphold accurate standard costing, including bills of materials, labor, and production rates.
  • Examine variances from standards to evaluate the accuracy of cost assumptions and identify efficiency enhancements.
  • Prepare and execute month-end journal entries in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Ensure adherence to control procedures regarding accounting and financial operations.
  • Lead initiatives to discover and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Support the introduction of new products by providing cost assessments and suggesting alternatives to enhance profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience in progressively responsible roles, ideally within a manufacturing or plant context.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and forecasting, with a proven ability to interpret complex financial data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (SAP preferred) along with advanced MS Excel capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a history of effectively guiding and developing finance teams.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
