About the position
As a Software Engineering Manager, your role transcends traditional software development.

Software Engineering Managers possess not only the technical acumen to lead significant projects but also the capability to manage a team of engineers effectively.

You will optimize your own code while ensuring that your team members can enhance theirs. In this managerial position, you will oversee project objectives, contribute to product strategy, and facilitate the development of your team.

Compensation: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The displayed range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Individual pay within this range is influenced by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, excluding bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities: Set and communicate team priorities that align with the broader organizational objectives. Ensure alignment of strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
Establish clear expectations with team members based on their roles and levels, aligned with the organization's goals. Conduct regular meetings with individuals to discuss performance and development, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap for your (often multiple) team(s). Adapt the roadmap to address anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.

Design, guide, and evaluate system designs within the broader scope, and write product or system development code to tackle ambiguous challenges.

Review code produced by other engineers and offer feedback to ensure adherence to best practices (e.g., style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
