Position Overview:

At Vail Resorts, exceptional service is at the core of our mission, and our Cooks play a vital role in delivering this unforgettable experience. As a key member of the culinary team, you will support the kitchen operations alongside the Chef, foster collaboration among staff, and uphold food quality and safety standards to ensure an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Position Specifications:

  • Expected Pay Range: $25.49 per hour.
  • Availability: Full Time, Year Round (10 months).
  • Skill Level: Advanced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and instruct others on the operation of kitchen equipment, tools, and accessories.
  • Implement and uphold standards for cleanliness and food preparation to ensure a high-quality work environment and guest satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about current menu offerings and their ingredients.
  • Prepare ingredients and maintain inventory levels to minimize waste.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory using a first-in, first-out method and track food waste for reporting purposes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or certification is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience in a kitchen is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, practices, and food safety; ServSafe certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.

The expected pay range is $25.49. This represents the compensation we anticipate for this position, with individual decisions based on various factors.
