The Database Administrator at Parrish Medical Center is responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of the organization's databases and database engines. This role involves managing and maintaining database systems, implementing security measures, and optimizing database performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in achieving company goals and initiatives, profitability, and productivity requirements.
- Provide assistance to other colleagues and IT team members in designing, developing, and testing reports, reporting solutions, and data warehousing and management.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, apply patches and fixes, and perform regular maintenance tasks to keep database systems up-to-date and running smoothly.
- Implement security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes to improve system efficiency.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
- Assist users in accessing and retrieving data from databases, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to the Service Desk team.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database-related activities with broader IT initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree required (a combination of experience and/or certifications may be considered).
- 3 years to < 5 years of work experience.
- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer (MSSQL) required within 1 year.
- Must complete MySQL Server 8.0 or higher or Oracle SQL training within 1 year.
