Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Enrichment Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. As a Youth Enrichment Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children in our before and after school programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating a child-centered environment that promotes learning, character development, and healthy living.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
  • Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, demonstrating respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty.
  • Monitor and supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; related college coursework or experience in childcare, education, or recreation preferred.
  • Must be at least 17 years old and/or 5 years older than the oldest child participating in the program.
  • Proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for youth and staff.
  • Commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission and values.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to present ideas and concepts clearly.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate: $17.90-$18.45 per hour.
  • Monday-Friday schedule: 6:30-8:45am and/or 2:30-6:00pm.
