Job Summary

Versar Global Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our corporate operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring the business financial accounting activities are performed accurately and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant government contracting compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the monthly accounting close process, including journal entry processing, general ledger account reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, leases, intercompany, and foreign operation items, including monthly analysis.
  • Assist with year-end financial audit, tax preparation, and regulatory filings.
  • Support Incurred Cost Submissions, internal rates/pools, and reconciliation.
  • Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal control policies and procedures.
  • Drive process improvements around the efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of month-end close and reporting cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations (GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), tax, etc.).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in accounting operations for a federal government contractor.
  • Proficient with Deltek CostPoint.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR, and CAS.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience with Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership to identify and solve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
