We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector in Melbourne, FL.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration of airborne communications systems and components, enabling real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
  • Design, analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of communications systems
  • Collaboration with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate voice, encryption, and infrastructure subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in system modeling and requirements management tools, as well as integration of COTS electronics into military systems.

Basic Qualifications:

Senior Communications Systems Engineer (T03)

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance (needed to start).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cryptographic implementations for airborne military communications subsystems
  • Experience with airborne communications infrastructure and equipment
  • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms
  • Experience with VoIP implementations, protocols, and equipment
