About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Pricing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our commercial organization, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability through effective pricing and contracting strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement pricing and contracting strategies to optimize revenue and market share
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop solutions
  • Analyze market trends and customer behavior to inform pricing and contracting decisions
  • Lead price tests and optimize local portfolio and life cycle pricing strategies
  • Collect and analyze data to understand market trends, sales trends, and customer behavior
  • Work closely with field sales management to identify competitive accounts for conversion and leverage commercial and non-commercial functions to gain business and take share
  • Identify process improvements by evaluating existing sales processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining and optimization
  • Collaborate with key business partners, including marketing, sales, and finance, to understand downstream needs and upstream needs
  • Perform data mining, cleansing, and manipulation to identify necessary data elements and their sources
  • Create metrics to measure contract outcomes and compliance, market share, revenue, and other performance metrics
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of business experience required, with 3 plus years in either pricing or finance experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights and coherent strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with multiple business partners
  • Ability to find out-of-the-box/non-traditional ways of problem solving and apply innovative thinking when approaching and defining solutions
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity/insufficiency and create contingency plans
  • Curious/inquisitive and able to investigate the current situation and provide specific actionable recommendations
  • Encourages team collaboration and works well with peers across multiple functionalities within the company
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, and analytical skills required
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically
