Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Receiving Operator to join our team at the Safety-Kleen Refinery in East Chicago, IN. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for receiving, sampling, and unloading all inbound bulk shipments of used oil by railcar and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Sampling: Ensure the safe and efficient receipt of inbound bulk shipments, including railcars and trucks, and accurately sample and test the used oil.
  • Unloading and Processing: Unload and process the received used oil, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately complete and maintain all relevant documentation, including shipping and receiving records, and ensure data is accurately entered into the computer system.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of receiving and unloading operations.
  • Health and Safety: Prioritize health and safety at all times, adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 6+ months of manual labor experience in a construction, industrial, or plant environment, with experience unloading and loading railcars, trucks, and trailers an asset.
  • Skills: Great work ethic, attitude, and good attendance; ability to communicate effectively with the team; and physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, work at heights, stand for long periods, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver's License required.
