Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Coherent Corp. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned engineer to lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including opto-mechanical assemblies and optical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical designs meet customer specifications and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical design and engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in opto-mechanical design and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with FEA and thermal analysis.
  • Knowledge of optical materials and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with vendor/supplier sub-contract management.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a professional office environment. The successful candidate will be required to sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment.
