Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team at MCR Hotels. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's maintenance and repair functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure the efficient operation of all hotel equipment and systems.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train a team of maintenance staff to ensure they are equipped to handle routine maintenance tasks and respond to guest requests in a timely manner.
  • Guestroom Maintenance: Handle guestroom maintenance requests in a prompt and courteous manner, ensuring that all guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Energy Conservation: Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and promote energy conservation throughout the hotel.
  • Pool and Spa Maintenance: Ensure that the pool and spa areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, and that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Key Control: Maintain a secure key control system to ensure that all keys are accounted for and that access to sensitive areas is restricted.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner, using information contained in Material Safety Data sheets to ensure a safe and efficient response.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of work-related experience in a hotel or related field; licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
  • Skills: Basic maintenance skills, proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment; valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record required.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
