About the Role

Sterling Process Equipment and Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Process Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing process flow diagrams and P&IDs in support of our sales team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry. You will be responsible for analyzing process requirements, selecting and specifying process equipment and components, and ensuring that all components meet regulatory and design standards.

Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, develop detailed project specifications and documentation, and provide technical guidance and support to drafters and estimators.

We are looking for a self-motivated and organized individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and contributing to the growth and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze process requirements to determine appropriate equipment sizes and specifications
  • Select and specify process equipment and components based on project needs and industry standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives
  • Develop detailed project specifications and documentation
  • Provide technical guidance and support to drafters and estimators
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' process engineering experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in at least two out of the following: manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care products
  • Ability to read P&IDs, engineering drawings, and blueprints
  • Able to produce sketches and drawings (draw P&IDs or 3D)
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following or a related field: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years' industry experience
  • 10 years' process engineering experience
  • Food and beverage processing knowledge
  • Fabrication of stainless steel knowledge
  • Familiarity with control systems and process automation (PLCs)
