Role Summary
The Field Service Technician will be integral to the Steel Making-Long Products Caster – Services USA team, reporting directly to the Technical Sales Manager. This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Advisory Services:
- Utilize hand tools for dismantling, setup, measurements, and analysis of guide systems, providing expert advisory services.
- Ensure that services adhere to the design specifications established by Danieli engineers.
- Engage with management prior to suggesting any modifications to equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment and achieve project objectives.
- Technical Drawings:
- Identify and navigate the drawing system of Danieli, ensuring compliance with company protocols.
- Research drawings and data to address customer inquiries effectively.
- Software Proficiency:
- Utilize standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Project Management, Publisher) for documentation and reporting tasks.
- Planning and Documentation:
- Assess site information to develop relevant drawings and data.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure timely submission of reports and timesheets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal guidance.
- Effective communication skills for conveying technical information to clients.
- Proficient in interacting with various organizational levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Experience managing multiple tasks independently.
- Familiarity with OSHA Safety Standards.
- Knowledge of rotating mechanisms and fault diagnosis.
- Proficient in using MS D7 full One Cad and CMS / Laser software.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, balancing, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Work conditions may vary, including exposure to noise, heat, and cold.
- Physical hazards may include proximity to moving parts and high-pressure systems.
Employment Conditions
- Successful candidates must pass a drug screening.
