Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Pharmacist to support our U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility in Hines, IL. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in preparing prescriptions and packages in an accurate, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
  • Verify prescription orders for legend, OTC, Medical Surgical, and Controlled Substances to ensure patient care.
  • Assess drug orders and cross-match with medication presented at checking stations.
  • Pre-verify medications loaded into mechanical apparatus to dispense medications into prescription bottles.
  • Complete verification and fill of controlled substance orders, including Schedules III, IV, and V.
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervise Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Follow CMOP policies regarding documentation and reports to meet VA and TJC policy.
Requirements
  • Licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
  • Licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and staff.
  • Basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Fluent in English under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
