Job Summary:

The primary objective of the Warper Creeler is to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of creels of yarn, thereby enabling warpers to produce high-quality beams of yarn for tufting machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creel Management: Visually inspect creels to ensure accurate placement of yarn, checking case labels and tube labels for accuracy.
  • Yarn Splicing: Utilize an air splicer to splice ends of yarn, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Creel Maintenance: Remove empty tubes from the creel and neatly stack them in boxes for storage.
  • Yarn Handling: Remove packages of yarn from the creel and stack them neatly in cases for shrink wrapping and inventory purposes.
  • Skinner Cone Management: Stack skinner cones in boxes for sale, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Thread Management: Thread ends of yarn back through creel guides to the warper overhead, maintaining optimal yarn flow.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, sweeping and/or blowing down the space as needed.
  • Warper Operation: Run the warper during designated break periods, ensuring continuous production.
Performance Expectations:
  • Lifting and Moving: Lift cones of yarn weighing 5 to 16 lbs at varying rates based on creel needs.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Push yarn dollies/carts loaded with yarn through the creel, with a maximum weight of 450 lbs.
  • Standing and Reaching: Stand for approximately 7.5 hours of the shift, with frequent reaching to thread the warper.
  • Bending and Climbing: Bend to thread the warper multiple times per shift, with occasional climbing, balancing, and kneeling required.
  • Color Recognition: Distinguish colors and shade differences to ensure accurate yarn placement.
  • Tool Operation: Utilize an air splicer with a trigger hundreds of times per shift, as well as scissors and snips throughout the shift.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Communication and Math Skills: Ability to read, write, and perform basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Computer Knowledge: Familiarity with computer systems and data entry skills, with training provided as needed.
Additional Requirements:
  • Safety Protocols: Learn and follow safety procedures and guidelines for the position and plant location.
  • Quality Control: Responsible for producing high-quality beams of yarn and notifying supervisors of any quality issues.
  • Overtime and Reporting: Participate in overtime as required and report any accidents or potential problems to management immediately.
  • Adaptability: Perform any other duties as assigned and adapt to changing production needs.
