About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SSES CDL Field Technician to join our Wet Weather Program team at McKim & Creed. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting field data collection activities associated with the completion of Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys (SSES) for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data.
  • Operate sewer cleaning and vacuum trucks to clean and remove debris from sanitary and storm sewer lines, utility holes, and lift stations.
  • Conduct CCTV inspections of wastewater sewer pipelines in accordance with NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
  • Maintenance hole inspections - record various structure attributes and identify defects.
  • Smoke testing - conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered.
  • Night flow isolations - measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage.
  • Dye testing - conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding.
  • Flow monitoring - install and maintain open channel flow metering equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer holes.
  • Review data collected in the field to ensure quality and accuracy of information.
  • Project planning to meet client requirements.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting, support, repair, and testing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CDL license required.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.
  • Can obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.
  • Should possess basic computer skills.
  • Good technical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification is required.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record, drug test, and criminal record.
  • Prolonged periods working in outdoor conditions in varying terrain types.
  • Prolonged periods working in outdoor conditions in varying climates.
  • Must be able to lift equipment up to 45 pounds at times.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three years of SSES experience preferred.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is preferred.
