Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineer serves as an engineering consultant and technical expert on mission-critical infrastructure, systems, and equipment. They apply professional knowledge of scientific and engineering concepts, principles, phenomena, and relationships to:

  • Assess specific requirements and delineate engineered designs
  • Develop preliminary and final design plans, engineering specifications, cost estimates, and procurement packages
  • Specify functional requirements, design, and test components
  • Analyze designs and integrate components
  • Evaluate overall design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, analyzing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting systems
  • Providing project engineering/program management support, development, and evaluation support
  • Engineering/lifecycle support of complex systems in a narrow area of specification
  • Conducting surveys and investigations at project sites to secure necessary data prior to initiating design work

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 0-2 years of experience
  • Proficiency in business tools, including database applications, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, CAD, BIM, and Energy Management and Modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Expertise in MS Office and graphics/publishing software
  • Creativity, motivation, persistence, and versatility
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional standards
