About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at ABACUS DERMATOLOGY MANAGE. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients have a positive and professional experience during their office visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including administrative and clinical assignments.
  • Handle all duties in a timely manner, ensuring the smooth operation of the medical facility.
  • Supply ordering and inventory management.
  • Obtain and update patient history and chief complaint.
  • Greet incoming patients and escort them to exam rooms.
  • Check for outstanding biopsies, bloodwork, and other procedures.
  • Assist providers with medical and cosmetic procedures.
  • Provide patient education following procedures and office visits.
  • Set up for select procedures, including biopsies and surgical procedures.
  • Perform procedures such as dressing changes, suture removal, and taking patient measurements.
  • Complete pathology requisition forms with complete and updated patient information.
  • Maintain a daily log of biopsies and cultures performed by each provider.
  • Maintain accurate accounts of specimens and record on cover sheets of lab bags.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments.
  • Clean, organize, and supply patient rooms.
  • Dispose of garbage and medical waste material.
  • Review and follow posted OSHA instructions and requirements.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or related fields required.
  • Dermatology experience preferred, but not required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work well with providers to anticipate and support their needs.
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
