Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), under the guidance of supervising physicians, is tasked with:

  • Conducting thorough physical assessments of patients.
  • Evaluating and managing patients with gastrointestinal disorders in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Ordering and interpreting essential diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Providing treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to GI bleeding, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dysphagia, acute liver conditions, gallbladder issues, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
  • Monitoring patient progress and making necessary referrals to specialists as required.
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Exhibiting a compassionate and professional demeanor while fostering personal and professional development.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, patients, and the community.
  • Demonstrating flexibility to serve in various locations as needed.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Main location: AdventHealth Altamonte Springs

Participation in on-call rotation is required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Team-oriented approach with enthusiasm for collaboration.
  • Expertise in gastrointestinal medical management.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and adaptability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:

A Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies is required.

2-4 years of experience as an APRN or PA-C in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licensure and Certification:

Must possess a current and valid Florida APRN or PA-C license.

Certification from ANCC, NCCPA, or an equivalent body is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
