Job Summary

We are seeking a temporary full-time Structural Ironworker to join our team in the Savannah, Georgia area. This is a temporary position, approximately 3-4 months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret structural drawings and understand crane signaling procedures.
  • Align and bolt structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place per structural drawings.
  • Direct cranes to move structural steel components and other materials onto and around the construction site.
  • Connect steel columns, beams, and girders with drift pins to align the holes in the steel with the framework holes.
  • Drill and/or ream holes into steel for bolting.
  • Unload and safely stack steel on cribbing.
  • Position steel with connecting bars and spud wrenches.
  • Use plumb bobs, levels, and laser equipment to check alignment and elevations.
  • Troubleshoot structures to identify and initiate repair of welding defects.
  • Identify and repair damaged coatings during installation (painted and galvanized).
Requirements
  • 3 years' experience in structural ironworking.
  • Must be able to pass an all-position SMAW exam.
  • NCCER certification or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school.
Work Environment/Physical Demands

The successful candidate must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time. They must also be able to work indoors and outdoors, including times of inclement weather.
