Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Practice Administrative Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care and physician activity, maintaining patient medical records, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain appointment schedules, ensuring timely and efficient patient flow.
  • Coordinate the check-in process, verifying patient information and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Answer telephone calls, respond to messages, and refer callers to appropriate personnel.
  • Execute pre-authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures, and track referrals.
  • Maintain electronic medical records and paper charts, adhering to NEMG policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily activities, including message retrieval, voicemail, and filing.
  • Collect and reconcile co-pay collections, and collaborate on quality improvement initiatives.
  • Interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, promoting a patient-centered approach to care.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of administrative healthcare experience or 2 years of administrative office experience required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • EMR experience preferred, and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required.
