Job Title: Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.

Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will provide professional nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and community-based programs. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health education programs, conduct health assessments, and provide patient education and counseling.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including health assessments, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Develop and implement health education programs for patients and communities.
  • Conduct health assessments and provide patient education and counseling.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health programs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or diploma in Nursing from an accredited college.
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN degree.
  • BLS certification.
  • At least one year of experience in Public Health nursing.
  • ERN training.
  • ACLS certification.
